Transit riders group meets to air concerns about Metro Bus, Metro Rail

Buffalo Transit Riders United is holding a riders' board meeting at 1 p.m. today in the Walker room at St. Paul's Cathedral to  address riders' concerns about Metro Bus and Metro Rail.

Erie County Legislator April Baskin was to attend to read her resolution supporting the addition of a rider representative to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's Board of Commissioners.

Transit riders attended the NFTA’s Board of Commissioners meeting in March to demand voting representation on the board.

“The NFTA’s board meetings have no public comment period and the advisory groups organized by the NFTA have no vote and so have no real power in decision making,” said BRTU member Andrew Marcum in a press release about today's meeting. The public is invited to attend the meeting.
