Stuffed animals, children's DVDs needed to comfort victims

The Greater Niagara Federal Credit Union will promote Child Abuse Prevention Month by collecting comfort items during the month of April for the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, (CAC) a service of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

The items most needed by the CAC are new stuffed animals. Greater Niagara FCU will accept those and other comfort items at both of its locations: 2901 Military Road, Niagara Falls and 160 Ward Road, North Tonawanda.

Greater Niagara FCU has been a champion for children and an active supporter of the CAC for more than 20 years, according to Ann Marie Tucker, CAC’s executive director. The credit union has provided more than 300 stuffed animals a year to children visiting CAC offices. Donations of children’s DVDs to play in the CAC waiting rooms are also needed.

In addition, both agencies invite the public to use the hashtag #BandAgainstChildAbuse all month to promote child abuse prevention and education.
