NYSEG says power is restored to all in Erie County; clean-up continues

New York State Electric & Gas Corp. reported that by 6:15 p.m. Saturday power had been restored to all Erie County customers who experienced outages after Wednesday's wind storm.

"Customers will continue to see crews doing clean-up work, inspecting and making further repairs," NYSEG said in a news release, and it asked that any customer still without power to contact or  call 800-572-1131.

NYSEG and Rochester Gas & Electric, both subsidiaries of AVANGRID, had restored service to some 130,000 customers throughout the state who lost power because of the storm, which brought down tree limbs and lines.

The extended outages had drawn complaints from many residents and businesses who went more than two days without electrical service while waiting for NYSEG to make repairs.
