Camp Hope is a free bereavement camp for kids 7-13 who have suffered the loss of a loved one. It is held at Camp Kenan in Barker, through Niagara Hospice, but participants need not have been affiliated with Niagara Hospice in order to attend.
This year’s camp is June 22-24. A spin is introduced to traditional camp activities, in order to better engage the kids. The weekend provides a great deal of fun, learning and physical activity. Kids meet peers their own age who are also dealing with loss and can share their sadness, joys and memories of their loved ones. Caring counselors are always on hand.
Interested participants are encouraged to apply early to ensure a spot. Visit: https://www.niagarahospice.org/grief-children.
