Former Black Panthers speaking in WNY

Two former members of the New York chapter of the Black Panther Party are in Buffalo for local appearances.

Sekou Odinga, who was also a member of Malcolm X's Organization of Afro-American Unity, and Dhoruba Bin Wahad will be speaking at 7 p.m. Friday in Burning Books, 420 Connecticut St.; 1 p.m. Saturday at Pilgrim-St. Luke's Church, 335 Richmond Ave.; and 4:30 p.m. Monday in Grupp Fireside Lounge in the Canisius College Student Union.

They'll also be speaking at 2:15 p.m. in ECC City Campus's Minnie Gillette Auditorium, 121 Ellicott St.; and noon Wednesday in Niagara University's Gallagher Center Multipurpose Room.

Joining them will be Dequi Kioni-Sadiki, a radio producer for Pacifica's WBAI radio, and educator and activist Matt Meyer.
