An Allentown apartment was heavily damaged by an intruder early Saturday, Buffalo police reported.
Someone forced open window from a fire escape into the flat in the first block of Mariner Street, police said. The burglar damaged a wood coffee table, knocked paintings off the walls, ripped the fabric of a couch and damaged a wood bench seat. The intruder also smashed a mirror built into the fireplace, a ceramic lamp, two vases and five antique snow globes.
The vandalism happened sometime between 1 and 6 a.m., police said.
And on the East Side, a Lang Street property was the target for extensive vandalism and theft Saturday morning.
Buffalo police said a suspect or suspects broke about 50 windows and doors throughout the building in the 100 block of Lang, then went inside and sprayed graffiti, poured paint all over, broke various items and stole $8,000 worth of property.
