The Rochester Americans scored four goals in the third period, rallying to beat the Binghamton Devils, 5-3, in Floyd L. Maines Veterans Memorial Arena Saturday night.
Trailing, 3-1, after two periods, the Amerks rally began 3:55 into the third when Eric Cornel scored his second of the game.
Colin Blackwell tied the game, 3-3, netting a short-handed goal at 7:29. It was the 12th goal of the season for Blackwell who has six points (three goals, three assists) in his last two games.
Rochester took the lead with 2:33 left as Sean Malone scored his 10th of the season with Nathan Paetsch picking up the assist. Hudson Fasching added an empty-netter with 53 seconds left to secure the win.
Jonas Johansson record the win for the Amerks, making 23 saves.
It was the second straight win for the Amerks who have points in four games. Rochester has already clinched a spot in the American Hockey League playoffs with their final six games deciding seeding and first-round matchups. Four of the Amerks last six games are at home in Blue Cross Arena.
Their next game is on the road, a 7:30 p.m. game at the Laval Rocket on Wednesday.
