Would abortion be allowed if ‘gay’ gene was identified?
Lately it’s been in the news that many countries have greatly reduced the number of Down syndrome babies being born due to prenatal testing and subsequent abortion. George Will’s March 15 column pointed out how this is technically genocide, because it is a systematic attempt – by all parties involved – to eradicate a category of people.
I wonder what will happen if the day ever comes that a genetic marker is identified as the “gay” gene. I would love to see the powerful gay rights movement channel its energy into opposing abortion on demand.
Pro-life advocates – many of whom are conservative Christians – would welcome them with open arms. Gay rights activists and pro-lifers may appear to be strange bedfellows, but then again, God does work in mysterious ways.
