Grand Island fire causes $250,000 in damage to home

A Saturday afternoon fire on Grand Island caused $250,000 worth of damage to a two and a half story home.

The Grand Island Fire Department received the call at 1:35 p.m. for a fire at 1711 Fix Road, and trucks arrived within four minutes. Firefighters found heavy smoke already pouring from the home.

The fire department said the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.

No one was reported injured in the blaze.
