Is Rob Gronkowski leaving the football field for the silver screen? Maybe, if one Hollywood Insider publication knows what it's talking about.
"Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Sylvester Stallone have encouraged New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski to give Hollywood a shot this off-season, and it appears the tight end has listened, as sources tell the Tracking Board that Gronkowski will join Frank Grillo and Mel Gibson in Joe Carnahan’s action movie Boss Level," Jeff Sneider wrote in a story published Tuesday.
According to IMDB, Boss Level is a movie about a retired special forces officer caught in a time loop on the day of his death. In addition to Gibson and Grillo, IMDB lists Naomi Watts and Will Sasso as cast.
"Gronkowski’s role is being kept under wraps, but you can safely expect him to throw a punch or two," Sneider writes. "Let’s just hope he takes off his Super Bowl rings first."
Gronkowski's future has been a matter of speculation in recent weeks. While recent reports indicate that he intends to continue playing after mulling retirement, a future in the WWE could also be a possibility.
