A Sinclairville man was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail Thursday after he was charged in connection with an incident that sent an 18-month-old child to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo with serious injuries, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Richard L. Pryll-Simpson, 34, of East Avenue, described by investigators as the child’s custodial parent, was arraigned in Cherry Creek Town Court on a charge of first-degree assault.
Pryll-Simpson was arrested following a call about 11 a.m. to the Sinclairville Fire Department about a child with a medical issue. The child was taken to WCA Hospital, Jamestown, then flown to Buffalo. No report was immediately available on the cause or extent of the child’s injuries. An investigation is continuing.
