Joan Wolfgang, the second longest serving member of the Niagara County Community College Board of Trustees, has been honored posthumously for her dedicated work at the college.
The Board of Trustees recently passed a resolution to honor Wolfgang, who died in 2010, for her service to the college. Her husband, Jerald I. Wolfgang, accepted a plaque to recognize her 28 years of distinguished service to NCCC as a trustee, as well as her commitment to the success of students.
Wolfgang joined the College Board in 1982 and chaired it three different times during her tenure.
Wolfgang and her husband also co-chaired the annual Foundation Gala, as well as led volunteers in the NCCC Foundation Major Gifts Campaign, and she was a major supporter of the student housing initiative and the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute project.
