Listen to what was said about UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen this week:
- "Rosen is the best pure passer I’ve seen in several years," said NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock.
- "...the most artistic, picture-perfect, pure passing quarterback, it’s Josh Rosen," said ESPN's Mel Kiper.
- "Josh throws a perfect ball," said one of his UCLA receivers. "Dig routes, curls. He doesn't let it go outside of the framework of your body. He throws a ball that's right under your facemask. You can catch it and just go."
Uh huh. And after all that, some analysts still have him as the third overall QB, behind USC's Sam Darnold and Wyoming's Josh Allen. What could that mean for the Bills?
"That would leave Rosen as a prime Buffalo Bills trade-up target," Mark Gaughan wrote, "presuming the Bills have a high enough grade on the UCLA QB to try to move into the top five."
Vontae Davis calls joining the Bills "a great situation for me as a player": The Bills' new cornerback had a conference call with reporters Friday. He said even though Buffalo was his first visit, something about the culture stuck out. Here's the transcript.
Jim Kelly vows to win latest cancer battle: Kelly said Friday that he will undergo reconstructive jaw surgery to try to beat his latest bout with cancer.
Baker Mayfield says he'd turn Browns around: Gotta respect the guy's moxie. "If anybody’s going to turn that franchise around, it’s going to be me," Mayfield said of the woeful Browns.
Bills' Patrick DiMarco preparing for future at annual NFL Business Academy: "I want to be able to secure my future and have a plan," said the Bills' fullback.
Louisville's Lamar Jackson shoots down receiver talk: Despite putting up gaudy college numbers, some teams feel Jackson should play receiver instead of quarterback. Jackson shot that idea down, just like Tyrod Taylor and others before him.
