Pair of former All-WNYers earn Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors

Edinboro women's basketball's Ciara Rosten, a Maryvale graduate, was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's co-Women's Basketball Athlete of the Year on Thursday. Rosten is the first athlete in the PSAC to win multiple major women's basketball awards in the same season, as she was named the PSAC West Athlete and Defensive Athlete of the Year on Thursday as well.

She was also named to the PSAC Western Division first team, where she is joined by Edinboro teammate and fellow Buffalo native Jontay Walton (Cardinal O'Hara).

Rosten, a 2014 All-Western New York first-team member, leads the conference in rebounds per game (11.8) and total blocked shots (105). Walton, the 2014 Buffalo News Player of the Year, led the Fighting Scots in scoring with 16.4 points per game and total assists (115).

Edinboro faces West Chester University of Pennsylvania on Saturday in the PSAC Tournament semifinals. Tipoff is at 1 p.m. in Indiana, Penn.
