A Delevan man who was previously convicted on a criminal sexual act charge pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
John P. Cutler, 35, faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 40 years imprisonment, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango, who handled the case, said that between July and Sept. 26, 2016, Cutler searched online for and downloaded still images and videos of child pornography that he saved on a laptop computer, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
A forensic examination of the computer revealed about 1,875 still images and 199 videos of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Cutler was previously convicted in state court of second-degree criminal sexual act, the U.S. Attorney's Office said. Cutler is set to be sentenced June 11.
