Former St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute basketball player Jaylen Morris signed a 10-day deal with the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday.
Morris, an Amherst native, played and started in 39 games this year with Atlanta's G-League affiliate, the Erie BayHawks. He averaged 12.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 rebounds per game.
He played college basketball at Division II Molloy, where he was a four-year starter and earned 2017 East Coast Conference first-team honors as a senior. He's the first player from Molloy and the second from the ECC to make the NBA.
Morris was an All-Western New York honorable mention in 2013, his senior season at St. Joe's.
