A Wellsville man was arrested for drunk-driving by State Police after following an ambulance to a hospital in the aftermath of a motor vehicle collision, authorities said.
Troopers arrested Paul J. Wright, 60, on Saturday after responding to a call from Jones Memorial Hospital for investigation of another accident, authorities said.
At the hospital, troopers interacted with Wright who had followed an ambulance to the hospital, authorities said. Troopers' investigation showed Wright was intoxicated, and he failed standard field sobriety testing, according to authorities.
He was charged with driving while intoxicated, authorities said. Wright was taken to the State Police Barracks in Amity, where a .45 caliber pistol was confiscated by troopers, authorities said.
A breath test administered by police revealed Wright had a blood-alcohol content of .15 percent, according to police.
