Jeff Miers' Random Thoughts: The Playlist

A sampling of the best new (and new-ish) music that I'm listening to this week.

Joan as Police Woman, "Damned Devotion"

Smoky, soulful and often disarmingly intimate. I've had this one on repeat since its release last week.

Thundercat, "Drank"

DJ collective the Chopstars work their wicked magic on this brilliantly remixed and reimagined take on Thundercat's "Drunk" album.

King Crimson, "Live in Chicago 28 June 2017"

There is still no other active rock band crafting music as daring and dynamic as King Crimson.

Lo Moon, "Lo Moon"

This is a compelling debut effort, full of esoteric, atmospheric songs with smart pop hooks.

The Temperance Movement, "White Bear"

This album came out last year, but I've only recently been turned on to its charms. If you're thirsty for some Black Crowes-like rock 'n' roll, this young band has got the goods.
