Two women were injured in a collision Monday morning that caused an SUV to flip onto its roof, according to Town of Tonawanda police.
The collision happened at about 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and Sheridan Drive. The driver of a Buick Encore, whose vehicle flipped over and had all its airbags deploy, was extricated and taken to an area hospital by ambulance for complaints of shoulder pain, police said.
The driver of the other vehicle, a Chevrolet Malibu, went to a hospital in a private vehicle for complaints of back pain, police said.
Both drivers were identified as adult females, though police withheld any further identifying information. The driver of the SUV was ticketed for passing a red light, according to police. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
