Sunny skies, unseasonable warmth expected to start week

The National Weather Service's watches, warnings and advisories map looks emptier than usual today.

A pair of warmish sunshiny days are forecast today and Tuesday.

High pressure is expected to dominate the weather pattern with temperatures in the mid-40s today and low 50s on Tuesday, the weather service said.

The average high temperature in Buffalo for the two days is 36 degrees.

A weak weather system could bring a chance for some showers on Wednesday with temperatures again in the low 50s to round out an above-average month of February temperatures.

Heading into today, the average monthly temperature was more than 4 degrees above-normal, data showed.

This week is expected to run above-normal for temperatures. (National Weather Service)

March is forecast to arrive warm and wet on Thursday. Rain is expected with daytime highs around 50 degrees, forecasters said.
