Tour of historic homes set for Linwood Avenue

Linwood Preservation District and Friends has announced the 2018 Historic Linwood Tour of Homes will be held on April 29.

This self-guided walking tour of homes in Buffalo's Linwood Avenue neighborhood is held biennially. A dozen structures will be on the tour, which will be held from noon to 5 p.m.

This tour commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Linwood Historic Preservation District.

Dating from the 1820s, the tree-lined, residential neighborhood of Linwood Avenue shows the work of many famous local architects and prime examples of styles including Vernacular, Second Empire, Gothic Revival, Italianate, Stick, Shingle, Queen Ann, Georgian and Colonial Revival, and Mission Bungalow.

Tickets can be purchased online at or in person; tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of. Tickets and tour books can be picked up on the day of the tour at WNY Artists Group, 1 Linwood Avenue.
