Lewiston Choraleers plan special Easter program at area churches

The Lewiston Choraleers will present an Easter program at four area churches March 17, 18, 24 and 25.

The program will feature a cantata entitled "The Easter Story" by Tom Fettke and Thomas Grassi, which retells Christ’s suffering, death, resurrection and exaltation in a simple yet profound story. The musical score draws on folk sources, spirituals, carols, and songs from English, Irish and Hebrew traditions.

The series kicks off at 1 p.m. March 17 at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 620 Center St., Lewiston.

Performances continue at 2 p.m. March 18 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 140 Rainbow Blvd., Niagara Falls; 2 p.m. March 24 at the First Presbyterian Church, 505 Cayuga St., Lewiston; and 2 p.m. March 25 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston.

The 50-member Lewiston Choraleers will be led by its founder and musical director, Donald D. Shrimpton, and accompanied by pianist Lynda Williams and percussionist Pat Kuciewski.

The performances are open to the public, with a general admission fee of $5, while  children 12 and under are admitted free. For more information, visit:  and Facebook.
