Williamsville native David Leggio grateful for Olympic opportunity with USA Hockey

The results were not what USA Hockey was hoping for at the Winter Olympics, but Williamsville native David Leggio was grateful for the opportunity.

Leggio, a goaltender, was named to the 25-man roster in January and played for Team USA in an international competition for the fourth time but the first at the Olympics. Leggio, 33,  represented the United States at the world championships in 2010 and 2014, and he also played in the 2009 Deutschland Cup.

He was joined in South Korea by his wife, Kristen, their 1½-year-old son, Leo, and his in-laws.
