There's a solid reason to go to The Pink before the usual 3 or 4 a.m. hours.
Goo Goo Dolls' bass player Robby Takac tweeted early Friday that he'd be the guest DJ at 10 tonight at 223 Allen St.
The Pink is far from a huge venue, so it would be wise to arrive early to see the local music icon in action and to discover his secret alumni. (We hope he plays more than just "Iris" on loop, but hey, no promises).

The founder of Music Is Art, a summer charity music festival that spotlights a wealth of local bands, Takac most recently lauded the talent of local classical musician Richie English in this Jeff Miers profile.
The News' Tim O'Shei went in depth with Takac in September 2016, exploring the Goo's philanthropic passions and immense devotion to Buffalo.
