A Buffalo drug dealer pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to distribution of butyryl fentanyl.
Steven Paschell, 48, faces a maximum 30 years in prison when Judge Richard J. Arcara sentences him June 4.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura A. Higgins said that on three occasions in late 2016 Paschell sold quantities of butyryl fentanyl to a confidential source working with the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Police searched Paschell’s Carmel Road residence and seized a glassine envelope containing a powdery substance, a scale, packaging materials and another glassine envelopes marked “Mojo” that contained butyryl fentanyl, according to prosecutors. Police also found an empty bottle of a cutting agent, a metal spoon and pieces of ripped plastic bags.
