Overnight parking bans in the Town of Tonawanda and Village of Kenmore have been temporarily suspended, officials announced Thursday.
Residents in both communities were asked to take cars off the street in the event of significant snowfall to allow plows to efficiently plow streets.
Kenmore officials suspended the ban effective immediately and nearly a month prior to its scheduled ending on March 15. The town also suspended its ban effective immediately until March 8.
The Village of Lancaster on Wednesday announced its parking ban is lifted until March 6. And Cheektowaga officials on Tuesday announced the town's ban is suspended until March 1 when it will be re-evaluated based on weather forecasts.
Long range weather forecasts predicting no snow prompted the communities to suspend their bans.
ANNOUNCEMENT: The overnight parking ban in the Town of Tonawanda has been suspended until March 8th, effective immediately. In the event of significant snowfall, please use common sense and take your cars off of the street to allow our plows to efficiently plow the streets
