FRIDAY FEAST – Hank Nowak Amvets Post 45, 3071 Abbott Road, is serving a fish fry from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday during Lent and through the end of June. WINNERS WANTED – John Rzeznik and Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls have donated an autographed vintage edition Les Paul guitar as the prize in a special auction from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday hosted by the Auxiliary of Hamburg Post 527, American Legion, 2 Memorial Drive off Evans Street, Hamburg.
The winner needs not be present. There also will be theme baskets. All proceeds will help veterans and their families. Also from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, the Sons of the American Legion will host a Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue at the post. Dinners are $10.
The Shriners of Western New York will hold their Spring Meat Raffle at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Shrine Center, 1600 Southwestern Blvd. West Seneca. Admission is $2 and includes beer, pop and sandwiches. A special $10 Big Ticket Raffle, for which tickets must be purchased in advance at the Shrine Center, will offer cash prizes of $200, $300 and $500. For info, call 674-8666.
The Seneca Babcock Community Center, 1168 Seneca St., holds its annual Towel Bingo at 1 p.m. Sunday, with beautiful towels as prizes. SOUP’S ON – Thirteen venues will ladle out samples of special recipes from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Williamsville’s Soup Stroll. Samples are $1 for a 3-ounce serving, with proceeds benefiting the Food Bank of Western New York.
Taste testers are invited to vote for their favorite. Ballots will be available at participating venues. Maps of the venues will be available at Glen Park Tavern, 5507 Main St., and The Irishman, 5601 Main St.

TRUE CLASSIC – Deitrich Buxtehude’s “Membra Jesu Nostri,” a 17th century cycle of seven cantatas, each dedicated to a different part of Christ’s crucified body, will be performed in Latin at 4 p.m. Sunday in Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St. at South Cayuga Road, Williamsville.
