Marcia M. Gerace, of East Amherst, co-owner and officer of Glidden Machine & Tool Co., died Monday in Beechwood Health Care Center, Getzville, after a short illness. She was 76.
Born in Buffalo, the former Marcia Gullo was a graduate of Holy Angels Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Rosary Hill College, now Daemen College. She taught at Blessed Trinity School and Holy Angels Academy.
Since 1981, Mrs. Gerace had been secretary-treasurer of Glidden Machine & Tool Co. in North Tonawanda, a manufacturer of precision machine parts, which she owned with her husband of 53 years, James L.
Active with the Kenmore Mercy Hospital Junior Board, she served as president and was recognized for 25 years of service. She also was a member of the advisory board at Mount St. Mary Academy.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Marcy Denzak; a sister, Petrina Gullo; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Swormville.
