A Charlotte, N.C.-based developer of Family Dollar stores has plans for yet another location for the discount retailer, this time a vacant lot on Clinton Street.
Durban Group and architects Bergmann Associates of Rochester are seeking city approval to construct a new 8,247-square-foot Family Dollar store at 1029 Clinton, with a loading dock, 35 parking spaces, utility improvements, lighting and landscaping.
The $907,600 project also includes vacant parcels at 1031, 1035, 1037, 1039, 1041 and 1043 Clinton – totaling nearly an acre of land, much of which is now covered over by asphalt or concrete. The land is owned by Gary Procyshyn, through 1039 Clinton Street Inc. of Cheektowaga.
The building, which would be about 26 feet tall at its highest point at the corner entry, would feature a facade of composite, concrete masonry and metal panels, with sandstone, taupe and "smoked putty" colors and red accents.
If approved by the Buffalo Planning Board, which meets Feb. 26, demolition and construction would begin in early summer, and would last about six months.
