Two men have been accused of using unusual weapons during an attack on a Buffalo gas station employee – cans of Four Loko.
An employee at the Sunoco at 211 Niagara St. told police the men tried stealing three cans of the alcoholic beverage at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, according to a Buffalo police report.
The clerk and the robbers got into a physical altercation, and the employee got hit in the face, head and body by the men using the beverage cans, according to the report.
Samuel R. Steger, 23, was arrested at the scene, while Zachery T. Salverson-Polso, 20, was arrested at the Adam's Mark Hotel. Both were charged with second-degree robbery and second- and third-degree assault, according to the police report.
The victim was taken to a hospital via ambulance.
Editor's note: A previous version of this story incorrectly said Four Loko contains caffeine. Phusion Projects announced in 2010 it would remove caffeine from all of its products following an agreement with attorneys general from 20 states, according to The Washington Post.
