Residents deserve action now to improve municipal housing
After 16 years of badgering from residents to do something about the injustices at Marine Drive Apartments and all the other Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority properties, Common Council President Darius Pridgen finally came out from behind the mayor’s skirts and spoke up. Hallelujah!
The cowardice of the Council members to remain silent while the BMHA laid waste to its properties is disgraceful. Reactive is their byword. The arrogance of the mayor to ignore the ineptitude of the board and its leader, Dawn Sanders-Garrett, for all this time shows the complete disregard he has for his constituents.
The finances of the BMHA are in shambles and guess who is going to pay for it? I think you know, taxpayers, so I advise you to speak up and protect your interests. You have the power of the ballot. Use it!
