Comedy on Tap: Jen Kirkman, Bryan Cork and Edge Comedy Night

The final week of February promises some great laughs to break up the winter blues in the Buffalo area. Here are some recommendations:

Jen Kirkman returns to headline four shows at Helium Comedy Club. She’s produced and performed two Netflix specials, “Just Keep Livin’?” and “I’m Gonna Die Alone (and I Feel Fine),” as well as authored two best-selling books, “I Can Barely Take Care of Myself” and “I Know What I’m Doing (and Other Lies I Tell Myself).” She’s appeared on several late-night talk shows and is a former writer and performer on the long-running “Chelsea Lately” show on E! Kirkman will perform at 7:30 and 10 p.m.Feb. 23 and 24 both nights, with tickets ranging from $20-$24. Info:

Rob’s Comedy Playhouse will welcome a comedian who can do whatever a spider can … at least for a little while. Bryan Cork comes to the club after years of doing appearances as Spider-Man, eventually discovering that age and spandex do not mix. Now performing comedy for 20 years, Cork delivers a unique brand of clean humor and clever stories about deer hunting and tech support. He will perform at 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Rob's Comedy Playhouse (1340 North Forest Road). General admission tickets are $12. Info:

Some of the best of locally developed comedy can be seen every month during Edge Comedy Night at Helium Comedy Club. Produced by James Kurdziel of 103.3 FM, the next show is at 8 p.m. Feb. 28 and will feature New York City comedian Mike Spiers and local comedian Brian Herberger who has opened for Sebastian Maniscalco. Kurdziel will perform as well. General admission tickets are $5. Info:
