Sabres recall Ullmark with Lehner injured

Linus Ullmark is back. Robin Lehner is out.

The Buffalo Sabres recalled Ullmark from the Rochester Americans on Monday morning because Lehner is out with a lower-body injury.

Lehner did not take part in Sunday's optional practice. He left a morning skate last week complaining of leg pain but he never missed a game. Lehner lasted only two periods Saturday, allowing four goals on 30 shots in a 4-2 loss to Los Angeles.

Lehner has been pulled from three of his last eight starts in KeyBank Center. He is 1-5-1 with a .865 save percentage during the forgettable stretch.

Ullmark is up for the second time this season. He was the First Star in his only appearance. He stopped 44 of 45 shots to lead the Sabres to a 3-1 victory over Columbus on Jan. 11.

He has struggled mightily to win since returning to Rochester. He is just 1-4-5 in the 10 appearances. Ullmark is 18-9-8 with a .924 save percentage in 36 games this season.

The Sabres host the Washington Capitals at 3 p.m. Monday in KeyBank Center.
