Few Buffalo performance spaces are quirkier than the tiny Main Street Cabaret.
That quirkiness -- views are sometimes obscured by columns and you can often hear the Metro Rail clanging during performances -- makes it totally appropriate for its next iteration as a comedy club.
The cabaret, housed in the Alleyway Theatre's complex in a renovated former bus depot, will host weekly comedy nights on Fridays from March 2 to 30. The Friday night event, called "Weekend Laughs," will feature local comic Billy Whelan hosting a variety of local stand-ups and other acts.
Local improv groups Babushka and Comic Sans will also perform in the space during March.
Tickets to the Friday night "Weekend Laughs" events, which start at 10 p.m., are $10 at the door.
