Niagara History Center hosts free family event focused on Olympics

Celebrate the Winter Olympics at the Niagara History Center’s free February Family Night from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the center’s 215 Niagara St. site in Lockport.

History Center volunteer Betsy Trometer will present a history of the Olympics, as well as an overview of the current games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Participants will find out about local athletes who have competed in past Olympics and make a shrinky dink Olympic keychain to take home, as well as play a game with an Olympic theme. The series is designed for families with children ages 5 and up.

A pizza and beverage supper will be available for a small donation from 5:30 to 6 p.m. Program reservations are required by calling the History Center at 434-7433.
