Lockport Art Company to host ikebana master for workshop

 An ikebana workshop is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. March 4 at the Lockport Art Co., 247 Market St., Lockport, featuring master artist Takako Michii, director of the Japan Culture Center of WNY.

Ikebana is the art of Japanese floral arranging and has been practiced since the 7th century.

Michii is also president of the Buffalo-Kanazawa Sister City Committee and has spent her life promoting U.S.-Japan relations throughout the region.

The workshop fee of $65 ($40 for LAC students) includes all materials needed, including a handmade pottery vessel from Lockport Art. Co. Space is very limited. For reservations, call 417-0792.
