Historical Association of Lewiston present talk on Glenn Curtiss

The Historical Association of Lewiston presents “Accept Everything America Can Produce: Glenn Curtiss Comes to Buffalo” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lutheran Church of the Messiah Fellowship Hall, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston.

Local historian Douglas DeCroix will discuss how World War I transformed Curtiss’ aeroplane and motor business from a small, hometown workshop into the largest manufacturer of its kind in the world and brought Curtiss to Buffalo.

DeCroix is executive editor of Western New York Heritage, the nonprofit publisher of Western New York Heritage magazine. He holds history degrees from the University of Illinois and Miami University of Ohio. He has contributed to numerous nationally aired historical documentaries produced by WNED-TV and the History Channel and received the Owen B. Augspurger Award from the Buffalo History Museum in October 2015.

The event is free and open to the public.
