Cases of meats, cheeses stolen in restaurant burglary

Niagara Falls police said that a Thursday night burglary of a Cayuga Drive restaurant may have been committed by an employee of a competing pizzeria, or perhaps someone who fenced the stolen goods to another pizzeria.

Sometime between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday, an intruder kicked in or pried open the doors to a storage shed behind Old Greenwalls restaurant, police said, causing an estimated $400 worth of damage in the process.

The thief or thieves then stole a turkey fryer, three cases of frozen chicken wings, a case of mozzarella cheese, a case of pepperoni, 40 two-liter bottles of soda, two boxes of cheese and a reciprocating saw.

The stolen merchandise was valued in excess of $500.
