St. Bonaventure plays host to 16th-ranked Rhode Island at 7 p.m. Friday in what shapes up as one of the most anticipated home games in the history of the Reilly Center.
Rhode Island has won 16 straight games and stands atop the Atlantic 10 Conference at 13-0. Bona has won seven straight and stands tied for second with Davidson at 9-4. The game is sold out.
A win would revive Bona's hopes of an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament, that is if the Bonnies do not get the A-10's automatic berth by winning the conference post-season tournament.
Bona fanatics (which is to say all Bona alums) interested in comparing the magnitude of the game to past big RC games can refer to the column by the New York Post's Mike Vaccaro on the fan site The Bona Blog.
