SPEAK SOFTLY – The Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site, 641 Delaware Ave., will hold a Teddy Bear Story Hour at 11 a.m. Saturday for children 3 to 8. There will be a reading of “P Is for President” by Wendy Cheyette Lewison, a snack, a special gift and a family friendly tour of the house where President Theodore Roosevelt was sworn in.

WELCOME MAT – Asbury Pointe Retirement Community, 50 Stahl Road, Getzville, will hold its first open house programs of the year from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and 4 to 7 p.m. next Thursday. GET UP AND BOOGIE – Moving Miracles, which helps people with developmental disabilities, will hold its first Dance-a-Thon fundraiser from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday in Michael’s Catering & Banquets, 4884 Southwestern Blvd., Orchard Park. Dance teams must include six dancers and each dancer must raise at least $50 in pledges.
There will be T-shirts for the dancers, themed music hours, prizes and performances by area dance troupes. Dancers are encouraged to bring accessories for beach, country and disco theme hours. To register, call 656-1321 or visit

BIG NIGHT – Next Thursday is the deadline for reservations for the annual General Pulaski Association installation dinner at 6 p.m. on March 2 in the Protocol Restaurant, 6766 Transit Road, Amherst. Tickets are $40.
