A man who is a fugitive from justice in California was arrested Tuesday in the City of Tonawanda
Antonio J. Marquez, 21, is wanted in San Bernardino, Calif., for felony parole violations, according to City of Tonawanda police.
Marquez, of San Bernardino, was arrested about 6 p.m. for criminal mischief after he allegedly broke items in a Hackett Drive residence. During his arrest, police said Marquez told officers, “I don’t think I should be in New York.” A background check on Marquez revealed there was an active felony parole warrant for his arrest for inflicting bodily harm. San Bernardino Police were notified and confirmed the warrant and indicated they wanted Marquez returned to San Bernardino.
Marquez was held by City of Tonawanda police on the criminal mischief charge. An extradition hearing will be held at a later date.
