"The Auction Block," a play about a family preparing for their Sunday meal and reminiscing about their time on the auction block and seeing the family ahead of them torn apart while being sold into slavery, will be performed at 6 p.m. Friday at Erie Community College's City Campus and again at 4 p.m. Saturday in Mount Olive Baptist Church, 701 E. Delavan Ave.
Each performance will be followed by an open mic "talk back" to discuss issues raised by local playwright Marie Hall Mullen's Black History Month re-enactment of this period in American history.
Admission to the ECC performance is free. Tickets to the Mount Olive performance are $10 for adults and $5 for children and must be purchased in advance. Call 430-2048 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or tickets.
