CURB SERVICE – Orchard Park United Methodist Church, 3700 N. Buffalo St., Orchard Park, will offer Ashes to Go in the church parking lot from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Ash Wednesday. Those who drive up can receive the traditional ashes plus a prayer.

SEEING THE FUTURE – John Gavigan, executive director of 43North, Buffalo’s $5 million business competition, will be guest speaker at the next meeting of the Buffalo Niagara Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Thursday evening in Hyatt Place, 5020 Main St., Amherst.
Networking begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6. All are welcome. Cost is $40, $35 for NAWBO members. Register online at nawbowny.org.

CHASING THE BLUES – Buffalo Blues will stage another benefit concert to assist the Western New York Veterans Housing Coalition at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Tudor Lounge, 335 Franklin St. Performing will be Doug Yeomans, Jony James, Grace Lougen and Bob James. Donation is $10.
Buffalo Blues will head south to Nashville, Tenn., on March 15 to hold its first veterans benefit show in the Music City. The lineup in a downtown club called The Basement includes Caitlin Koch, Joseph Wooten, Adam Wakefield and the group Super Honk. For more info, visit BuffaloBlues.org.

SPEAKEASY SOIREE – The Rotary Club of Buffalo will reach back to the Prohibition Era for its Roaring Twenties Gala Fundraiser from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday in the Tonawanda Castle, 69 Delaware St., City of Tonawanda.
The evening will include appetizers and a buffet dinner from Bing’s Restaurant, Schnitzel & Co. and Webster’s Bistro and Bar. Providing beverages will be Opici Winery, Niagara Landing Wine Cellars, Resurgence Brewing Co. and Lockhouse Distillery. There also will be Rotary’s Rum Runner cocktails. Dr. Jazz and the Jazzbugs will play for dancing.
Tickets are $65, $120 per couple or $500 for a table of 10. Proceeds benefit the Rotary Reads Kids Club program in libraries in the City of Buffalo. To order tickets online, visit BuffaloRotaryevents.com.
