Marrano Marc Equity Corp. has kicked off construction on its new $14 million Windstone townhouse project in Amherst, just days after receiving final state approval to begin marketing and sales.
The West Seneca-based high-end homebuilder plans to construct 40 new luxury homes in the community located between Sheridan Drive and Main Street, directly connected to Marrano's Greythorne gated community with 26 sites. That's in addition to the Windstone patio home project, which has 42 sites.
The company will erect a total of seven buildings on a 6-acre site overlooking the Country Club of Buffalo and the Miller Tennis Center. Two buildings are already under construction, and the homes are expected to be ready for occupancy by spring 2018.
“We’re thrilled that our new Windstone townhome project is officially underway,” said David DaPaolo, Marrano Homes executive vice president of land development. “We’ve seen significant demand for this type of housing in the area and are excited to be able to deliver.”
Two different two-story model designs are available, priced in the mid-$270,000 and mid-$300,000 range. Both include attached garages, full basements, covered porches, a private rear deck and amenities such as granite countertops, natural hardwood floors, concrete construction, and a high-definition doorbell with built-in camera.
The builder received the go-ahead from the state attorney general last week. The site also includes the historic Goodyear Water Tower, which Marrano has committed to preserve.
