The YMCA Buffalo Niagara will launch its 2018 Annual Campaign this week as it looks to raise $768,000 by April 12.
Money raised will be used to benefit the Y’s financial assistance program, which last year helped more than 2,800 families take part in programs and services they would otherwise have been unable to afford.
The nonprofit serves more than 100,000 people annually through six branches, two resident camps, and more than 50 program sites in the region, providing a holistic slate of programs to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
“The annual campaign is our single-largest fundraising event,” said Anne Reif, vice president of YMCA Buffalo Niagara Association advancement. The Turkey Trot – the association’s single-largest special event, which raised nearly $330,000 last year – also feeds the financial assistance program, along with a summer golf classic. Donors to the association provided nearly $1.2 million in assistance last year, Reif said.
Those wishing to donate can visit ymcabn.org or call 565-6000.
YMCA leaders, supporters, and staff will gather Tuesday at the Hotel Henry to kick off the campaign kickoff.
