Miami Beach Police have arrested a man suspected of fatally shooting a 2006 Williamsville East High School graduate last month.
Tyrone Jackson, 32, was arrested Friday in Miami, two days after police charged another man who they believe was an accomplice in the killing. Jackson was charged with first-degree murder and weapons possession, according to a Miami Beach police report.
Kamil Patel, 29, was shot twice on the night of Jan. 25 while walking with his girlfriend to a karaoke bar.
Last Thursday, Miami Beach Police announced the arrest of Jeremiah G. Dorvilus, 31, who was charged with first-degree murder. He was accused of driving the vehicle used in the fatal shooting. At the same time, police announced they were searching for Jackson, who has been arrested at least 27 times over the last 20 years on charges that include drug possession, firing a weapon into a building and burglary, according to the Miami Herald.
Patel's girlfriend, Katy Park, credited him with saving her life before he was shot. Patel moved to Miami from Dallas a few weeks before he was killed.
