Niagara County residents who want to learn how to use the opioid overdose antidote Narcan will have nine chances between Feb. 27 and March 1.
The county announced Monday that five training sessions will be held in Niagara Falls and one each in Lockport, North Tonawanda, Lewiston and Gasport.
Each participant will receive a free naloxone rescue kit. Narcan is a well-known brand name for naloxone.
The county will hold the sessions in conjunction with the state Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services.
