Republican John A. DeFrancisco won support Monday from top Niagara County GOP leaders in his race for governor.
County GOP Chairman Adam VanDeMark and State Sen. Robert G. Ortt, R-North Tonawanda, endorsed the Syracuse senator.
"He’s a brilliant public servant with the utmost integrity," Ortt said.
"John knows that cutting taxes, spending and burdensome regulations helps our working-class families and small businesses," VanDeMark said.
DeFrancisco has been in the Senate since 1993.
Joel Giambra, former Erie County executive, and former state Housing Commissioner Joe Holland are also candidates for the GOP nomination.
