A member of the citizens' advisory committee formed to interview candidates for the post of West Seneca Schools superintendent objected to the School Board's decision to send just one name to the committee.
The board said last week that interim superintendent Matthew Bystrak is the best choice to head the district permanently.
Brandon Najm, president of the West Seneca Kiwanis Club, told the board he was hoping Bystrak would be one of the finalists and is glad he's the choice. But, he said, the committee should interview several finalists.
"Matt Bystrak you've done an absolutely great job, very honorable job," Najm said at Monday's School Board meeting. He added: "I can't be part of a committee that sees one person, because I don't know what I'm comparing you to."
