NUCCIO - Richard L. Entered into rest February 4, 2018, peacefully at home with his grandson and granddaughter, Richard and Danielle Pastor, beloved father of Beverly (late Charles) Guercio, MaryRose (Dominic) Velotta and Diane (Dominic Zacarria) Notte; grandfather of Nancy and Maria Guercio, Richard (Danielle) Pastor and Deanna (Justin) Miller; great-grandfather of four; former husband and lifelong dear friend to Jane Scorsone; brother of Katherine (late Tony) LoJocano, Albert Nuccio, late Joseph (late Anita) Nuccio; also survived by many nieces and nephews. No prior visitation. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Richard trained as a refrigeration specialist and went on to own and operate "The Dick Nuccio Refrigeration Company". He was well known and had superior skills for troubleshooting and problem solving. He was the authorized dealer and factory representative for the Scotsman Ice Makers, one of the largest in the country with factories in Italy, Wisconsin, and South Carolina. He serviced accounts from upstate New York, including North Boston to Syracuse and Allegheny. He operated a very successful business, his accounts included many upscale restaurants and businesses. Richard employed and taught his trade to his son-in-law Louie Cavese and two stepsons. He also worked for the Penn Central Railroad for 30 years as a brakeman and later as a freight conductor. In earlier years he worked for the Buffalo Sanitation Department. He enjoyed reading about the sciences and had a passion for popular music of his time and watching old movies. He particularly liked the "Golden Girls" as one of his favorites. Richard looked forward to family functions and spending quality time with his family. He was known to play a good hand of pinnacle. He had a great wit and sense of humor! He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Arrangements by Perna, Dengler, Roberts Funeral Home.
